This past season, North Carolina grower William Tyndall achieved a milestone on his Clinton-area farm: a record soybean yield of 76 bu/A on a 100-acre field planted with AgVenture® brand AV54A1E soybeans. “Normally we average around 40 to 50 bushels on that field, but this year we saw over a 20-bushel increase,” detailed William.

Variety selection is always strategic for his operation. Each year he chooses a mix of maturities, and for this winning field, the nematode package and 5.4 maturity made AgVenture AV54A1E the right fit. “It’s a short window when we have the team here to harvest and I like that this variety is flexible – the beans are ready early, and they hold for a long time.” In his region, where pigweed pressure can be a challenge, he also values the Enlist E3® trait for added herbicide flexibility.

To guide his decisions, William relies on side-by-side comparisons and independent trials on his own acres. It’s the same approach he encourages other growers to take. “Do your own plot data – just give it a try, put AgVenture brand seed side by side and see for yourself.”

For William, the standout performance was not just the record yield – it was watching those plants maintain health and hold strong for four to five weeks before the combine arrived. That combination of resilience, flexibility and value is what keeps AgVenture brand seed in his lineup year after year.
