KENTLAND, INDIANA (July 30, 2015) — The third annual Earl H. Passwaters Scholarship was awarded this week to Brett Meador of Lena, Illinois. Brett, the son of Rick and Mary Meador, is a sophomore at Iowa State University, majoring in agronomy. The $1000 scholarship is awarded annually to a college student with plans to pursue a career in agriculture working on a farm.

KENTLAND, IN (June 23, 2014) – AgVenture, Inc. has announced the recipient of the Earl H. Passwaters Agricultural Scholarship. During the company’s annual national sales conference held this week in St. Louis, Missouri, the $1,000 endowed scholarship was awarded for the second year to Iowa State University student, Clayton Robison of Winfield, Iowa. Clayton is the son of Chris and Sharon Robison.
Agricultural education is crucial to meeting the demands of feeding the world, and one man, Earl Passwaters, understood that. He played a vital role in supporting young farmers and enabling them to become valuable members of the agricultural community.

After starting as a family farmer in Delaware and finishing up a 26-year career as a salesman for Pioneer, Earl Passwaters settled into retirement. The transition proved temporary, though, and when Earl discovered AgVenture, he decided to form his own Regional Seed Company (RSC), East Coast Seeds.
