AgVenture Mayberry Seed Hosts Cutting-Edge Maximum Profit Workshop

ESSEX, MISSOURI/KENTLAND, INDIANA (April 28, 2014) — Mayberry Seed Co. last week hosted an intensive two-day workshop for AgVenture Yield Specialists and interns from six states. Matt Mayberry, Vice President of Mayberry Seed Co. said, “This was a demanding, practical, and focused set of sessions that provided each participant with a set of fine-tuned tools to put to work on their customer’s farms.”

Mayberry noted that the participants focused on some of the core tenets of the Maximum Profit System™ (MPS), an innovative approach to helping growers dramatically increase yields, lower cost per bushel and advance profitability. He added, “MPS provides growers with an innovative set of tools and techniques to apply in their field operations. It is critical that each AYS has the latest information available to them. It assures that we provide our customers the right seed products for the environment, and the competent, year-round support needed to achieve those goals.”

Leading agronomy technical sessions was Jerry Hartsock of Cutting Edge Consulting and Research, Geneseo, Illinois. Hartsock conducted sessions on planting perfection, both from the classroom and from directly at the planter. “Planting with impeccable standards results in improved yields and healthy crops. But it requires planning, precision, measurement, accuracy and tenacity. Our AgVenture Yield Specialists and Interns reviewed the tactics that help each of our customers improve profitability. Planting is such a crucial time for the entire year ahead. Adjustments in planting speed even just one to two miles per hour can impact yield by twenty bushels per acre. Our people are highly trained and ready to be effective in the field.”

Workshop participants also focused on germination, seed purity, fertility and early season management of emerging crops. Hartsock added, “By carefully combining exceptional seed quality with superior crop management through MPS, we have a definite and positive impact in the field. Proper management of those young plant stands allows them to best meet their maximum profit potential.”
