AgVenture East Coast Seed grows – hires Chris Breeding as AgVenture Yield Specialist

KENTLAND, INDIANA (December 27, 2013) — AgVenture East Coast Seed has continued to grow, and has now welcomed Chris Breeding of Greenwood, Delaware to their team to serve the region’s crop producers as an AgVenture Yield Specialist. Breeding will work directly with East Coast Seed customers, providing them with access to AgVenture® brand seed products and year-round professional seed support.

AgVenture East Coast Seed General Manager, Mark Davis said, “Chris is a solid agricultural professional. He has several years of experience in production agriculture and has a very strong background in soil health and soil management. Those skills will most definitely be of value to our customers.”

Davis said Breeding comes to them with some special qualifications. “Chris knows us from the inside out. At first, he started growing seed for us. As we have grown to know more about one another, we decided it was a great match. His skills and his shared passion for partnering with farmers to help them advance their goals will definitely benefit our customers.”

Breeding’s work history has a strong focus on practical production and soil fertilization and nutrient management. Most recently, Breeding worked for firm involved in fertilizer management and byproduct recycling. For five years, he worked for the Kent County Conservation District where he focused on writing nutrient management plans as a certified nutrient consultant. He was deeply involved in cost share programs, cover crops, equipment, and soil health and soil enhancements. For more than 7 years out of college, Breeding managed multiple operations at a fresh market fruit and vegetable farm near Houston, DE. He had broad experiences focusing on early crop establishment, greenhouse production, bedding and transplanting of vegetable crops, management of a registered Angus herd and interface with customers.
Chris is a graduate of Delaware Valley College where he studied crop production/horticulture.

Both Chris and his wife, Karen, are dedicated to agriculture. Karen is an ag teacher. The couple resides in Greenwood, Delaware.
