KENTLAND, INDIANA (April 8, 2014) — Agrithm, LLC., formerly known as AgVenture Jackson Seeds at Byron Illinois is poised for growth. And according to Agrithm General Manager, Jeff Jackson, the company is delivering on their promise to customers. With new facilities, interactive educational programs, and with access to year-round support, their northern Illinois customers are actively learning new methods to advance yields and profitability on their acres.
Agrithm’s commitment to their customers is evident in their new facilities at the Byron warehouse location. General Manager, Jeff Jackson said, “With our 4,000 square foot addition, and other improvements, we now have ample space for professional meetings. We are dedicated to working directly with customers to assure they have the best, current and practical information on production practices that maximize profitability potential. Our classroom and outdoor show plots make an ideal learning environment.”
Last week, Agrithm held one of many customer education meetings at their new classroom onsite. More than 25 area farmers participated in a High Yield Soybean and Biologicals workshop. AgVenture Soybean Product Manager, Jeff Shaner presented an in-depth approach to dramatically increasing profitability of the soybean crop. Jackson said, “We were very pleased to have Jeff speak. He helped our customers take a refreshed look at raising soybeans, and treating soybeans like a crop from which you expect solid yields.”
Topics discussed included the importance of overall plant health from germination through maturity, and key factors, including nutrient management, that help feed the yield potential. Shaner commented, “When AgVenture has a get-together, people learn things from each other and we all are better for it. That is one of my favorite aspects of this job. The farmers working with Jeff and his team at Agrithm have become a great source of joy for me to interact with year after year. They are sharp and professional. It’s always a great experience to come to Byron.”
Doug Kremer, CEO of TerraMax worked with customers on the impact of biologicals. “Doug brought us some great concepts and actionable ideas on translating soil health into yield.”
Jackson added, “Our customers were very involved in these discussions. It is great to be able to bring this elite group of area producers together to brainstorm, ask questions, and directly engage with our AgVenture Yield Specialists and these supportive experts. The enthusiasm is contagious and we expect to see the impact that implementing these practices will make on our customer’s profitability.”
