PRECISION AG ADOPTION RATES
Research from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln tracked adoption of various precision farming technologies over time. The report showed that respondents clearly see value in adopting precision technologies. Seventy percent of the Nebraska producers participating in the study indicated their profits had increased due to the use of precision agriculture equipment. Producers acknowledged PA benefits including reduced input costs, increased accuracy and quality of operations, better data and information, increased productivity, and reduced operator fatigue/stress. However, topping the list of challenges were costs of keeping pace with advancing technology, return on investment. Data interpretation, privacy, ownership, and data accuracy were cited as top farm-level issues.
